You can use Velcro, command strips, magnets, or silicone to adhere it to your enclosure.
If you notice any cracks in the background, they won't affect the background's structural integrity, so you don't need to worry about it impacting its performance. If you still wish to repair it, you can use a strong reptile safe or aquarium safe silicone to seal the background. However, it is not necessary to do so.
